Your aftercare checklist

• Keep windows open where it is safe and practical. Fresh airflow helps moisture leave the carpet or fabric and can reduce drying time. If the weather makes open windows unsuitable, use normal heating and safe ventilation instead.
• Avoid walking on cleaned carpets until they are fully dry. Drying commonly takes several hours and varies with the fibre, cleaning method, temperature and airflow. If you must cross the carpet, wear clean socks or the shoe covers provided and walk carefully.
• Take extra care when stepping onto hard flooring. Damp feet or shoe covers can make tiles, laminate and other hard floors slippery.
• Keep children and pets off damp carpets and upholstery. Wait until the cleaned surfaces are completely dry before normal use.
• Do not replace furniture or loose items too soon. Wait until the carpet is fully dry. Leave any protective tabs or blocks beneath furniture legs in place until we advise that they can be removed.
• Do not cover damp areas. Avoid placing rugs, plastic sheets, cushions or blankets over cleaned carpets and fabrics because this restricts airflow.
• Vacuum only when fully dry. Once dry, normal vacuuming can lift the pile and remove any loosened dry particles.
• Contact us if a mark reappears. Some deeply held spills can wick back towards the surface as the carpet dries. Take a photograph and contact us promptly. Our workmanship is covered by our 7-day guarantee.

How long will drying take?

There is no single drying time. Fibre type, construction, soiling, cleaning method, room temperature and airflow all make a difference. Please treat the area as damp until it feels completely dry rather than relying on a fixed number of hours.
