Wool
Wool is a natural, resilient fibre that can hide soil well. It needs controlled cleaning chemistry and careful treatment of spots to reduce the risk of colour change, felting or browning.
Polypropylene
Polypropylene is highly water resistant and common in modern homes. It often responds well to professional cleaning but can attract oily soils and may permanently distort from excessive heat.
Nylon
Nylon is strong and resilient but some varieties can be more receptive to coloured stains. Correct stain identification remains important.
Polyester
Polyester is soft and naturally resistant to many water-based stains, while oily contamination can be more stubborn.
Why labels and testing matter
Appearance alone is not always enough. Construction, backing, dyes and previous products also affect the safe cleaning plan, which is why professional inspection comes before treatment.
