1. Plan the property and customer needs
We check access, furniture, children and pets, working-from-home noise, airflow, previous professional cleaning and anything the customer has used for stain removal.
2. Identify and test
Carpets receive colour-fastness testing, fibre assessment and backing checks to manage shrinkage risk. A burn test may be used when fibre content remains uncertain. Upholstery labels and spare fabric are checked where available, followed by a chemical test in an inconspicuous area and specific attention to dye bleeding.
3. Protect the property
Work mats, hose corner guards, shoe covers, furniture glides and protective tabs are used where appropriate.
4. Clean the carpet
- Pre-vacuum
- Pre-clean chemical and colour test
- Apply suitable pre-spray
- Agitate
- Rinse and extract
- Treat remaining stains
- Rinse treated areas
- Groom the pile
- Apply dryers
- Complete a final check
5. Clean upholstery
The usual sequence is vacuum, pre-treat, agitate, rinse, towel and dry, adjusted for the tested fabric and construction.
6. Choose and manage drying
Fibre type, airflow, soiling, access and how soon the room is needed guide whether truck-mounted extraction, portable extraction or low-moisture cleaning is appropriate. Dri-Pods and snail air movers can accelerate evaporation.
