Carpet, sofa and specialist rug cleaning in Edinburgh

Professional cleaning for Edinburgh properties

Carpets, upholstery and rugs can look similar while responding very differently to moisture, heat, agitation and cleaning chemistry. Danny checks the fibre or fabric, construction, condition, staining and access before choosing between suitable extraction or low-moisture methods. Any limitations are explained before work begins.

Every appointment is personally completed by Danny rather than passed to an agency technician. Discount Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning has served customers since 2013, is insured and protects completed work with a seven-day guarantee.

Specialist rug cleaning in Edinburgh

Rug cleaning begins with an assessment of the face fibre, dyes, construction, backing, fringes and previous treatments. This is important because wool, cotton blends, modern synthetic rugs and delicate constructions should not automatically receive the same process.

Danny completed a two-day hands-on rug-cleaning course at Alltec Network in Cambridge with respected industry instructor Paul Pearce. You can read about the specialist rug-cleaning service and view Danny's rug-cleaning training certificate.

For an accurate quotation, send a full photograph of the rug, close-ups of the main marks, the back and fringes, and a readable fibre or care label where one is available. Previous DIY products, pet contamination or known colour movement should also be mentioned.

Real cleaning work completed in Edinburgh

These examples show how the method is adapted to the item, setting and drying requirements rather than forcing every job through one standard process:

• Bowling-club carpet cleaning: a low-moisture system was used for a commercial Edinburgh venue where rapid drying and minimal disruption mattered.
• Bouclé sofa cleaning: extra vacuuming, careful agitation and controlled water extraction were selected for the polyester upholstery.
• Sofa stain-treatment assessment: previous DIY attempts were taken into account before the full item was professionally cleaned and realistic limitations explained.

Carpet and upholstery cleaning methods

Hot-water extraction is used where it is appropriate for the fibre, condition and access. Low-moisture cleaning is available where the setting or drying requirement makes it the better option. Specialist spotting, pet-related odour treatment, stain protection and commercial carpet maintenance can also be assessed.

Drying time varies with the material, construction, treatment required, ventilation and weather. Air movers may be used where appropriate, and practical drying and aftercare guidance is provided before Danny leaves.

Information for an Edinburgh quotation

Send a full view of each room or item, close photographs of staining or wear, and a readable manufacturer label where available. Include the postcode, floor level, parking or access restrictions, pets at the property and details of any product already applied to the affected area.

Edinburgh cleaning questions

Do you provide specialist rug cleaning in Edinburgh?

Yes. Edinburgh rug-cleaning appointments are available subject to the rug assessment, route and postcode. Clear photographs allow Danny to identify obvious risks and advise on the next step before an appointment is arranged.

What photographs are needed for a quote?

Send a full view, close-ups of stains or damage and the care or fibre label where one is available. For rugs, include the back and fringes. For sofas, include the full item and a close photograph of the fabric.

Can every stain or damaged area be removed?

No professional cleaner can guarantee the removal of every permanent stain, worn section, colour loss or previous chemical damage. The item is assessed and realistic expectations are explained before cleaning begins.
