Why upholstery must be tested first

Sofas can combine face fabric, dyes, filling, backing materials, trims and adhesives that react differently to moisture and cleaning solutions. Care labels, spare fabric and an inconspicuous area are checked where available. The results guide the pressure, moisture level and cleaning method used.

We also distinguish removable soiling from wear, fading, permanent staining and physical damage. These limitations are discussed before treatment so the expected result is clear.

What to send for an accurate quotation

Clear photographs of the full sofa, individual cushions, the care label and the main marks are helpful. Please also mention previous cleaning attempts, odour, pets and whether cushions can be removed. This allows the likely fabric, condition, access and time requirement to be considered before the visit.

Drying and protecting the room

Drying depends on the construction, method, airflow and room conditions. Before work starts, we agree where equipment can be positioned and protect nearby flooring, corners or furniture where this adds value. After cleaning, we explain ventilation and when the upholstery can be used normally.
